Feature availability
The NamoID Console and the selected application's public configuration are the source of truth for features available to an Instance. Do not assume that a feature mentioned in a roadmap, package keyword, blog post, or another customer's environment is enabled for your application.
Availability labels
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Generally available | Supported for eligible customer environments |
| Early access | Enabled for approved customers with an evolving contract |
| Test preview | Restricted to Test and unsuitable for production |
| Customer-specific | Requires provider credentials, approval, or commercial enablement |
| Planned | Not available for integration |
Currently documented capabilities
These docs cover the generally supported Hosted Auth foundation:
- OIDC Authorization Code with S256 PKCE;
- public and confidential applications;
- hosted redirect and popup delivery;
- email OTP, password, passkey, configured external providers, and MFA as advertised by the selected Instance;
- Test and Live separation;
- managed test users in Test;
- JavaScript, React, and Next.js SDKs.
Native email OTP is a guarded Test preview. It fails closed unless the environment, application, origin, human-verification policy, and rate limits are provisioned by NamoID.
Provider-dependent capabilities
External providers require environment-specific credentials and may require separate provider approval. Treat DigiLocker, Aadhaar-related verification, WhatsApp, Truecaller, CKYC, and similar India verification capabilities as unavailable unless they appear as enabled in your Console and your agreement explicitly includes them.
Contact NamoID before committing a production launch to an early-access or customer-specific capability.
Unavailable and request-only modules
Customer Organizations, enterprise SAML, and customer billing are not available. They cannot currently be enabled for a customer and are documented only as planned product models. Their pages are not implementation contracts.
Agent Auth is different: it is a request-only preview that has not been rolled out to every customer. Request Test access in the NamoID Slack community. Access is not granted until NamoID confirms the request.
